The Women’s provides Childbirth Education programs for all pregnant women and their partners or support people, who have booked to give birth at the hospital.

The programs are designed to inform women and increase their confidence about what to expect during pregnancy, labour, birth, breastfeeding and the early weeks following the birth of their baby.

Patients who are booked to birth at the Women’s

Patients whose infant is in the Newborn Intensive Care unit (NICU) in Parkville
A fee applies to this service.

Frequency
- Seven days a week during the day and in the evening.
Pre-referral guidelines
Women must be booked to birth/have birthed at the Women’s or have a child in NICU to utilise this service.
Appointment
An acknowledgement letter will be sent directly to the patient and the GP will be notified. The patient will then receive a letter with the appointment details.
