We provide a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere for patients and visitors.
Careful consideration has been given to enhance the experience of our patients and provide for privacy, religious and cultural needs as well as the opportunity for reflective time away from the wards and clinics.
If you need help to find your way around the hospital, please do not hesitate to speak with our staff at the reception desk or one of our hospital volunteers.
Lower Ground floor and Ground floor seating areas
We offer a number of comfortable seating areas around the atrium and right next to the main entrance of the hospital.
Women’s Welcome Centre
The Women’s Welcome Centre is a warm and friendly space for our patients, their families and other visitors to enjoy.
It’s a place to relax between clinic appointments or during your hospital stay and while visiting a patient. We have the daily paper, chilled water, tea and coffee, children’s toys and books, a library and a quiet rear lounge which is ideal for breastfeeding and some quiet time.
Breastfeeding rooms
We have a couple of small breastfeeding rooms for patients and visitors near the Pregnancy Clinics (Level 1).
Internal garden courtyard
The garden courtyard is used by patients and visitors taking a break and some fresh air away from the wards and nurseries (Level 4).
Sacred Space
We offer a multi-faith Sacred Space for patients and families to use for reflection and prayer. There are sacred texts as well as a prayer journal for recording thoughts. We hold a memorial service here each year (Ground floor).
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women
The Women's welcomes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and their families. We offer a comfortable place to meet, make a cuppa and relax in our space right next to the main entrance of the hospital (Ground level).
Retail and food
The retail and food precinct offers convenience and choice for patients and visitors. You will find a wide selection of light meals, drinks, snacks and coffee at Zouki Café and Isabella Restaurant. There is also a HealthSmart Pharmacy, Australia Post outlet, separate ATM and Commonwealth Bank outlet.
